Is there any way to make a collapsible bullet while in the main view of Word or is there any way to assign something as a header while keeping it in a bulleted list? I seem to be stuck between two options that half work. Press Ctrl + to display or hide the formatting symbols. These symbols represent spaces, new paragraphs, page breaks, and other bits of text and page formatting. This made Outline view look great, but the main document lost all the bulleted formattingĪnd now everything is just plain text with no indenting at all so it's impossible to read. The hidden formatting symbols are now shown. To show or hide them all, select Show all. In the section titled 'Always show these formatting marks on the screen', check or uncheck the appropriate boxes to view the marks of your choice. Select Display from the listing at the left. So, I went back to the regular document and highlighted the top level bullets and made them heading 2 and highlighter their sub-bullets and made them heading 3. In Word 2007, from the Office Button menu, select Word Options near the bottom right corner of the menu. I tried using the left/right arrow buttons and Alt+Shift+right but that only changed the icon of the bullets but didn't actually indent anything in the Outline
So I went to Outline view and everything just shows up as a giant bulleted list. Ribbon is a feature in Microsoft Office which allows the GUI buttons to exhibit various task related functions.
